(5) segments and (7) vertices inserted on mesh.

CAD-Earth version: Premium.

Command description:

Insert selected polylines in the mesh, at a fixed elevation or calculating the vertex elevations from the mesh, from another mesh or from a plane, applying an elevation offset and optionally inserting breaklines at each polyline segment.

Dialog box settings:

ØGet point elevation.

From this mesh. Polyline segment vertices will be projected onto the mesh to calculate mesh vertex elevations.

From another mesh. Polyline segment vertices will be projected onto another mesh to calculate mesh vertex elevations.

From a plane defining 3 points. Polyline segment vertices will be projected onto a temporary plane by defining 3 points, optionally specifying a slope between the first point and the second and third point to define the plane slope in two directions.

Set fixed elevation. Vertex Elevation will be equal to this value plus the specified elevation offset at every polyline vertex.

ØElevation offset. This value will be added to the calculated or fixed elevation.

ØInsert breaklines. Triangulation will be reordered at every polyline segment, to avoid any triangle sides crossing the polyline path.

ØRecord changes for undo operation. This option can be unchecked to avoid performing an undo operation if the mesh has a huge number of vertices, but changes can't be undone.

Tips:

Use this command to add terrain features selecting existing polylines in the drawing quickly.

Set the mesh visualization style to contour lines, elevation or slope ranges, to see the immediate effect of inserting polylines in the terrain configuration.
